Lathrop teen wins top state title

Lathrop teen Samuel Dacus II swept top honors Friday at the California State Youth Accolades Scholarship Competition in San Jose taking home the title of California State Ambassador/Young Man of Achievement for 2011. Along with Katherine Anderson of Susanville, chosen as Miss California State, Dacus will serve as a "Goodwill Ambassador for the Golden State of California and the Official Host for California Fairs, Festivals & Celebrations and the California State Fair & Exposition".
