‘Superstar’ beach in OC

• SUBWAY PROJECT REACHES MILESTONE: SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The construction of a $1.6 billion subway through San Francisco's Chinatown has reached a milestone. The San Francisco Chronicle reports that crews finished digging the tunnel for the Central Subway earlier this month. • Suspect in Northern California standoff found dead: FAIRFIELD (AP) - Police in Northern California say officers found a man suspected of shooting multiple rounds in his neighborhood dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after a roughly eight-hour standoff. The Fairfield police SWAT team entered the suspect's home at 8:39 p.m. Monday. They killed an aggressive dog after a stun gun failed to subdue it and then found the man dead upstairs. He has not been identified.
