OROSI (AP) - A man defended his three younger siblings in a shootout inside their Central California home early Tuesday, killing one intruder and sending a second to the hospital with serious injuries, officials said.

But 19th-century laws allow almost 4,000 companies, farms and others to use an unmonitored amount of water for free - and in some cases, to sell what they don't need.

MODESTO – The Great Valley Museum of Modesto Junior College will open the Planetarium on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, for 12 shows scheduled on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the American Graffiti Festival and Car Show on the MJC West Campus. The planetarium is located in the new Science Community Center.
