Singer feared dead in Mexican plane crash

MONTERREY, Mexico (AP) - The wreckage of a small plane believed to be carrying Jenni Rivera, the U.S-born singer whose soulful voice and unfettered discussion of a series of personal travails made her a Mexican-American superstar, was found in northern Mexico on Sunday. Authorities said there were no survivors.

Bob Mintzer L.A. Big Band concert to wrap up Delta Jazz Festival Saturday

San Joaquin Delta College and the Division of Arts and Communication sponsors an all-day Jazz Festival on Saturday, Dec. 1, featuring middle school, high school, and college bands, combos, and vocal jazz ensembles from throughout the Western United States. Wrapping up the festival is a performance by the Bob Mintzer LA Big Band at the Warren Atherton Auditorium on the Delta College campus. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $30; $24 for reserved seating.
