Firefighters muster up friendly competition in Turlock Aug. 3

When the alarm bells and whistles sounded to alert the community of a fire in the early 1900s, firefighters rallied by pulling carts and hand-pumped fire engines. A glimpse into that era of firefighting will come to the Turlock fairgrounds on Aug. 3 as dozens of firefighters gather with antique equipment for the purpose of competition at the 30th annual Stanislaus County Fire Muster.
