Bill wrote the book for Trump

After lamenting Donald Trump's "penchant for sexism" last week, Hillary Clinton announced to supporters that her former-president husband - her "not-so-secret weapon" -will be hitting the campaign trail for her in January. Characteristically, in all capital letters, Trump struck back on Twitter, where he observed Bill Clinton himself has "demonstrated a penchant for sexism." The it-only-hurts-when-you-laugh part about this tiff is that The Donald and Bubba have so much in common.

Frequent bowel movements without pain

DEAR DR. ROACH: I am a 77-year-old female in good health. I am 5 feet, 2 inches tall and weigh 125 pounds. I exercise regularly and eat a varied, healthy diet. For some years now, I have had what I consider too many bowel movements every day. I have complained to my doctor at my yearly checkups, but nothing ever gets resolved except for the diagnosis of IBS. My last doctor recommended I take Metamucil, and that helps in the passage, but not the frequency. Upon arising in the mornings, I have two to four good-size bowel movements without fail ...

The value of DNA testing for your dog

DEAR DIDI: You did such a wonderful job mediating between my family and our dog. The overall change in our household is no short of a Christmas miracle in our opinion. I wonder if our situation is more common than we know. Please share our story to maybe help someone else out there that doesn't have the benefit of your wisdom. -Family finally at peace in Stockton

15 QUESTIONS

1) Polls show that, by a large margin, Americans feel we're on the wrong track, both economically and as to foreign policy. Yet none of you offers any criticism of President Barack Obama, who has been in charge for the last seven years. Why, then, should Americans believe that four more years, under your leadership, would be any different from the last seven?

Hillary Clinton got what?

"Schlonged." That is what Donald Trump said Monday night, referring to President Obama's victory over Hillary Clinton, the former senator and secretary of state, in the long battle for the 2008 presidential nomination. Appearing at a rally in Michigan, Donald Trump rallied his crowd by saying this: "She was favored to win, and she got schlonged."

Trump channels McCarran

Donald Trump's presidential campaign has done it again. Speaking aboard the USS Yorktown on the 74th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Trump called on our government to stop letting Muslims enter the United States "until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on."

Fibrates not effective alternative to statins

DEAR DR. ROACH: On a number of occasions, you have written about statins and mentioned their side effects, notably muscle damage. My physician put me on a statin about seven years ago, and after only 35 days I had a frighteningly bad episode. I gave up on the statins, but they left me with permanent damage to the muscle across my waist and a muscle on my left side. My physician then put me on gemfibrozil, two pills a day 30 minutes before eating. The gemfibrozil has lowered my bad cholesterol and triglycerides, and raised my good cholesterol -- with no ...

What a ‘doggy first-aid kit’ should contain

DEAR DIDI: My family and I would like to thank you again for stopping to help us when our dog, Daisy, was being attacked by a stray dog while we were out walking. Daisy's puncture wounds are healing well and we are convinced she would not have survived if you hadn't intervened. We were further impressed that you carry a "doggy first-aid kit" and we now want to have one in our family. Would you be willing to share what was in your kit? - Grateful Lathrop Family
