Donald Trump’s tall tax tales

Donald is falsely framing his economic policies as good for working families, when he's really just protecting his own wealth.

Trump in Mexico

Donald Trump's surprise visit to Mexico, where he met the Mexican president and discussed the many contentious issues between our two countries, reminds me of President Reagan's important trip to Geneva in 1985. Reagan was more than willing to sit down with the Communist leader in an effort to build a personal connection between the two men without sacrificing America's vital interests in the Cold War.

Those national anthem haters

The Black Lives Matter movement is two years old, so it's a little odd that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has suddenly become a convert. He must certainly be pleased that everyone knows he refused to stand up during the national anthem at a preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.

QB Colin Kaepernick’s fight against ‘racism’

Recent polls find a majority of Americans believe that "race relations," since the election of the first black president, have gotten worse, not better. Colin Kaepernick, a National Football League quarterback, is Exhibit A for why so many people feel this way.

Obama churns out pardons

On Tuesday, Aug. 30, President Obama commuted the sentences of 111 federal drug offenders. In his first term, Obama endured the sting of critics like me who called him one of the stingiest modern presidents when it comes to the presidential pardon power. In his second term, Obama is making up for lost time. With 673 commutations, the Washington Post reports, Obama has approached 690, the number of commutations issued by the previous 11 presidents.

Federal hy-pot-crisy

The Clinton Foundation fiasco

The Clinton Foundation has become a serious problem for the Hillary Clinton campaign. Everyone knows the Clintons made a mockery of the promises they made to Team Obama. Even the left-wing site PolitiFact says that it's "Mostly False" that they obeyed the rules.

No learning from mistakes

Some people do not learn from their mistakes. Anthony Weiner is one. The husband of Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin resigned from Congress in 2011 when he was caught sending shots of his tumescent privates to a number of women not his wife. His first instinct was to lie about the messages and claim someone had hacked his Twitter account. Over the three weeks between the story's breaking and the seven-term Democrat's resignation from his House seat, Weiner tried but failed to make light of his colossally bad judgment. Yet his pronouncements only made him look worse, as ...
