Where the rubber meets the rubber

While we're on the subject of Manteca stepping up to be more environmental friendly, it's been seven years since the first "rubber" streets were put in place in Manteca and they are still doing fine. A rubberized cape seal was put on sections of Cottage Avenue and Center Street while a rubberized overlay was used on segments of Alameda Street and Union Road.

Firefighters raise $5,000

The seventh annual Manteca Firefighters Softball Tournament conducted April 22 at Big League Dreams raised more than $5,000 that the Manteca Firefighters Association plans to distribute to local charities. The tournament included 17 teams from fire departments throughout Northern California.
