ACAMPO - The Manteca Area Soccer League under-10 girls all-stars completed their Bill Meyer Winter League season with an 11-0-3 record and the championship. The Sharks went 4-0 in the season-ending playoffs at Oak View School this past weekend.

1999: Lewallen fans 17, sets new EU High record

Forty years ago, on February 28, 1969, the East Union High basketball team upset their cross-town rivals at Manteca High 70-61. This was after 24 consecutive losses in EUHS's first two cage seasons. Manuel Luis and Dean Rich led the Lancers with 17 points apiece and Don White added 13 more to the winning total. Manteca High's Steve Beaver led all scorers with 22 points in a losing cause. Lindsay Munoz added 11 points for the Buffaloes.
