Standout Delta DB named to all-state academic team

It turns out 2008 Manteca High graduate Marc Figone has the brains to go with the brawn. The 5-foot-8, 185-pound sophomore defensive back for Delta College's football team was named to the California Community Colleges/Football Coaches Association academic all-state team last week. Figone and fellow Mustang teammate Casey McCurdy, a wide receiver, are two of 27 players selected from a pool of about 4,000 California community college football players.
