East Union High's girls basketball team and the Sierra boys will go into this week's Sac-Joaquin Section Division III openers with coveted top-four seeds, guaranteeing them two home games should they win their first-round contests.

The Ripon Quarterback Club Golf Tournament is set for Feb. 27 at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton. Check-in time is 10 a.m., and the tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 11. The dinner and awards ceremony will be at 5:15 p.m. at the Spanos Pavilion Banquet Room.

WESTON RANCH – It wasn't for a lack of effort that Weston Ranch fell to Sonora at home Tuesday night; the Cougars put in a hard 32 minutes.
ESCALON – Tyler Goslinga scored 31 points and Ripon Christian avenged an early Trans Valley League loss with an 82-73 win over Escalon Tuesday night.
