Mrs. Clara B. Pacoma, 92, died Oct. 16, 2009 in Stockton. A native of the Philippines, Mrs. Pacoma lived in Stockton. She is survived by her children Mila Silveira (Joseph) of Vancouver, Canada; Manny Pacoma (Cecilia) of Fremont, Violet Albano (Cesar) of Lathrop, and Clarita Muench (Edgar) of Frankfurt, Germany; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives.
Daniel D. Freitas, 67, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Fresno. Dan was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer in 2004 and fought cancer with everything he had. He surpassed all odds.

Douglas J. Horton, 73, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009. Doug retired from Manteca High School as a math teacher. He was born on June 14, 1936. He enjoyed playing bridge at Oak Park Senior Center. Doug loved being a dedicated teacher and also coaching athletics. He received a Certificate of Recognition The John R. Williams Award.
Thomas G. "Tom" Best, 64, died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Modesto. He was born on October 26, 1944 in Oakland, CA, and was a resident of Manteca for 20 years.
Ruby A. Deaton, 90, entered into rest on October 18, 2009 at Doctor's Hospital of Manteca. She was born on September 6, 1919 in Ola, Arkansas to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard & Faye Merritt. She was preceded in death by one grandson Jeff Deaton and her husband Boyd Deaton. Ruby was a resident of Lathrop for 33 years.
Beloved wife of Frank H. McKinnon (deceased), devoted mother of Sharon A. Phillips, cherished grandmother of Deborah Phillips, Bethany Zepeda, Jennifer Batchler, Megan Hackney, John Phillips, Matt Phillips and Kimberly Orlando. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was the treasured cousin of Sandra Boietenbacker, Linda Hoff and their families.
John Wayne Cotrell was born on Aug. 18, 1931 to Thurman and Verna Cotrell in Stockton, CA. He passed away peacefully at his home Oct. 14 at the age of 78.

A Manteca resident for the past 48 years, she was born on October 24, 1930 in Delano, California to the late Leonard & Irene Beal. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly 41 years, Vaughnon Edgar Smith and one brother Frank Beal.
Patti Titus, 70, entered into rest on October 13, 2009 in Manteca, California. She was born on January 27, 1939 in Springfield Ohio to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerome and Mary Nevius. Patti is preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband Kenneth Titus and one brother Jerry Nevius.

Raymond Daniel (Dan) Shanahan passed away peacefully with family by his side, on July 20th, 2014, at age 75. Dan was one of six children born in Salina, Kansas, on October 6, 1938. Dan is survived by his beloved wife Amy Shanahan and five children, Kimala Ballard (Gary), William Shull (Chris), Kari Archer (Mark), Lisa Stevenson (Jackie), and John Stevenson (Karen). Dan also leaves behind his sister Mary Wessling and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jerry "Catfish" Hedlund, age 71, entered into rest on July 5, 2014, in Manteca. He was born on January 17, 1942, in Grass Valley, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia. Jerry was a resident of Manteca for the past 43 years.

Denise is survived by five children, Robert (Bobby) Thompson, Norman Thompson, Louise Braden, Diane La Valley, and Patrick Thompson and eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Jo Alva Fortuny-Davis, born December 1, 1929 and longtime resident of Manteca, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2014. A resident of St. Jude's Care Center, Jo Alva is survived by her children; Mikel Fortuny, Tina Fisher, John Fortuny III, Tony Fortuny, Ed Fortuny, her sister Pat Miller and family and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly. Services for Jo Alva will be held privately. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Care Center in Manteca.
