She and her husband of 67 years [nicknamed Swanee] moved to Sherwood Park, Rensselaer County to raise their three before becoming a nanny to many local families. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Norman Jay Zwinge, 89, died Tuesday, December 29, at Manteca Care & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on June 18, 1920 in Tracy. He was a lineman for PG&E for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Hudson.

Ruth Shetterly Darlington passed away on December 25, at the age of 89. She lived in Manteca for the last six months. Prior to moving to Manteca, she lived in Atwater for fifty years.

Beverly A. Lynd passed away in Manteca at the age of 77. She is survived by her partner of 35 years, Mary Ann Zornes; her two sisters, Berta Sharp and Brenda Stark; her four brothers, Bob Lynd, Tom Lynd, Ernie Lynd, and Richard Lynd; her granddaughter, Christina Whitney and her great-granddaughter, Clarice Whitney. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Peggy Short and Mary Lynd, her brother, James Lynd and her daughter Kathy Whitney.
Gladys Deen Michaels, 83, went home Sunday, December 20. She is survived by her four children, Curtis Deen of Truckee, Betty Cruz of Manteca, Rosie "Deen" Farda of Citrus Heights, and Jesse Deen of Manteca; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; her sister, Ellen Dunbar of Modesto; and a brother Lod Seale of Citrus Heights. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Lod and Thelma Seale of Manteca; and her sister, Pearl Green of Green Valley, AZ.
Edna Yaw, 92, was born September 1, 1917, in Elejay, Georgia. She was one of thirteen children born to Lenore and Napoleon Bates. As a child she enjoyed the life and freedom of the woods. She grew up on a farm. The family lived in a large home made from a train station. She remembered clipping the mail to a wire which was picked up by the passing train on a weekly basis. Manuel De Jesus Alvarado was born February 10, 1951, in El Salvador. He has four daughters; Irma, Delia, Ana and Norma Alvarado and son, Carlos Saavedra. Manuel was an educated man that came to this country to seek a future for his children, he worked in the fields and taught English as a second language as well as helping those who needed a GED to accomplish their education.

Thomas Albert Brockman, "Al," was born on August 6, 1915 in Lathrop, CA and passed away May 18, 2015. He was raised on a dairy farm getting up at 4:00 to milk all the cows by hand. He volunteered to serve in the Marine Corp during WWII in 1944. Al was the last man to drive a six horse drawn Fresno scraper leveling land in the San Joaquin Valley. He retired from the California State Hwy. division and moved to Wellington, NV with his wife Millie.
