She was born April 21, 1924 in Jackson, California, one of eight children to Gabriel and Victoria Rascon. Early years were spent in the fields picking seasonal crops with her family. She was sole supporter of her children. Employment included Bon Bon Candies & Del-Monte Cannery. Later in life she was a greeter at the Manteca Wal Mart until retirement at the age of 79.
