Blanche Froning, 94, entered into rest on January 5, 2011in Modesto with her loving family at her side. She was born on May 26, 1916 in Iowa. Blanche was a country school teacher in Garrison, Iowa, prior to becoming a homemaker. She and her husband, W.W. "Bud" Froning raised four children, they shared with them their love for life, education, music and sports. At her church she was the music director for many years, touching many people with her beautiful gift.
Roslyn K. Sage, 79, of Manteca passed away due to natural causes on December 31, 2010 at her residence in Manteca. Born Roslyn K. Franklin on March 14, 1931 in San Francisco she has called Manteca her home for the past 40 years.
Matilda Tamarra passed away peacefully in Modesto on Nov. 15, 2010. She was born Matilda Maxima Acosta on Feb. 28, 1948 on the island of Oahu, Hawaii to the late Marcos Acosta and Ellen and Juan Rezonable.
James Fraser Rankin, 76, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at his home in Ripon, California, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Lynne Rankin; his sons Jeff Rankin and Bruce Rankin; his sisters Betty Schofield and Judith Barna; his step-mother Patricia Rankin-Koch; his grandchildren Carley Burke, Robert Rankin, William Rankin and Annie Rankin; his daughters-in-law Mary Rankin and Danine Rankin, and many close friends and relatives.
Casey Stagno passed peacefully Dec. 28, 2010. He was born in Utica, N.Y., on June 1, 1920 and moved to California when he was 2 years old. Casey served during World War II in the 70th and 74th Sea Bees.
Barbara J. Terry-Stanton was born Oct. 28, 1935 in Denver, Colorado, to Joseph Beidler and Catharine Feuerstein-Beidler. Barbara passed away in Medford, OR, on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 from long-term illness. Services to celebrate her life will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Musgrove Funeral Home in Eugene, Oregon.
Mike Roos was born on Sept. 18, 1968 in Manteca, and he passed away on Christmas Day 2010. He was a loving son, husband, dad, brother, uncle and friend to many. He had a passion for race cars and those that knew him know that racing was his life! Mike was a race car fabricator and built custom shocks for race cars.
Tiffany Aileen Samuel was born on August 18, 1977 in Billings, Montana. She passed away on Christmas Eve in Modesto, California at the age of 33. She was very creative and loved to ride her Harley that she won from "The Hawk".
Marjorie Stoops, 81, entered into rest on Dec. 14, 2010 in St. Helena, California. She was born in June 29, 1929 in Pittsburg, PA, to the late Edward and Hazel Roberts. Marjorie joins her husband in heaven of 60 years, Dale Stoops, who passed away just two months prior to her death. She also was preceded in death by her loving son Ronald Alan Stoops and her brother Leland Roberts.
