Joseph "Joe" Phifer JR., 87, entered into rest peacefully in his home on Tuesday, March 30, in French Camp. He was born on May 29, 1922 in Donnelly, Minnesota to the late Joseph and Ora Phifer. Joe joins his loving wife of 55 years, Lois Phifer, in heaven, as well as his parents and siblings; Helen Phifer, Jean Sherstead and brother-in-law's Carsten Sherstead and Clyde Caldart and sister-in-law Catherine Phifer.

Neva Louise Thomas passed away on Wednesday, April 7, at the age of 82. She is survived by her husband, James V. Thomas, to whom she was happily married for 63 years, and by their children, daughter, Jeanne and husband, Bob; son, Jim and wife, Carol, and son Joe and wife, Julie; and her sister, Leona Alkire and her brother, Jerry Hinton. Neva was also blessed with nine grandchildren, Jerri, Melissa, Jessica, John, David, Janette, Lisa, James and Joseph and two great-grandchildren, Jackie and Maddie.

Mr. James William Parry of Manteca, a former resident of Lodi, passed away on Monday, April 5, at the age of 87. Mr. Parry was born in Emeryville, CA, on March 19, 1923, to James and Frances (Richardson) Parry. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II. William Brouwer, 84, passed away from congestive heart failure on Wednesday evening, March 31, at Manteca Care & Rehab. Bill was a builder and a grower. He served for 3 years in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII; his duty took him to Japan in the Military Police. He passed in the company of his wife, Laura, after a long battle with a rare form of cancer known as Sarcoma.
