Lloyd Thomas Losinger Sr. was born in Pennsylvania to Anna and Cecil Losinger. Lloyd served in the Army for 18 years; he was stationed in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He received many awards including the Purple Heart. Lloyd also served 25 years in civil service.
Tessie L. Milan was born in the beautiful Ozark foothills of Newton County, Arkansas, on Jan. 20, 1920, to Caney Thompson and Elva Clayborn Thompson. She succumbed to ovarian cancer and passed into heaven on Feb. 10, 2011, at the age of 91. There she joins her son Robert Milan, her sister Pauline Smith, and brother Eugene Thompson.
Sam Nickerson, 83, died on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, after a short illness. He was a resident of Salida for 54 years. He was born on Dec. 20, 1927 in Grove, OK and lived in Stanislaus County for 60 years. He served as a 2nd Class Fireman in the Navy from 1946 to 1947. He worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local 684 for 57 years. He was a member of the Manteca Horsemen's Association.
Louane (Lee) Walker, 72, former resident of Manteca, passed away on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, surrounded by members of her family and friends from her church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roy; and six children, Karen, Laurie, Stacy, Michael, Steven, and John. She had eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Louane was preceded in death by her parents, Orvin and Stella Lee; her sister, Naomi "Jeannie" Morris; and three brothers, Gerald, Carleton, and Robert. She is survived by her brother Elwood.
Eileen was born July 6, 1924 in Hanley, England to George Albert and Elizabeth Chell Brunt. Eileen served in the British Women's Land Army from 1942-1945. During her service in the army she met US serviceman Max Haynie. Eileen and Max were married and settled in Douglas, Arizona, where they lived until relocating to Half Moon Bay, California in 1963 and retired to Manteca, California in 1983.
