Michael Nye, 72, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 3, in Manteca. He was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Mabel Nye on August 16, 1937 in Stockton. He was a resident of Manteca for over 35 years.
Hazel Jones passed away after a short illness on Tuesday, March 2, at Bethany Home at the age of 99. Born to George and Myrtle, on August 21, 1910, in Council Bluff Iowa. Hazel graduated from Everett Washington High School in 1929. Following her graduation she worked in the high school office as a secretary, followed by the American Fruit Growers. Hazel married Fred H. Jones in 1935 and became a homemaker.
Frances Molina, 65, resident of Manteca, passed away, Monday, March 1, in Manteca. Visitation Friday, March 5 at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. at Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary followed by interment at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Fremont.
Dick Hale, 78, died on Monday, February 22, at Doctors Hospital of Manteca. He was born on Sept. 11, 1931 in Pittston, Pennsylvania. He was a resident of Manteca for 27 years, prior San Jose for 20 years.
Juanita Norton, 86, passed from this life into the arms of her Lord on Tuesday, February 23, after complications from surgery. Juanita and her family moved to Ripon 47 years ago from Indiana. Juanita was a hard worker and was employed by Nicolayson Farms for 25 years. After her retirement in 1988 she enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, canning, cooking and reading, but her greatest pleasure came from her family. Juanita was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion.
Marilyn T. Scott, 79, entered into rest on Thursday, February 11, in Manteca. She was born on February 7, 1931 in Yuba City, California. In heaven she joins her father Virgil Johnson. She was a Manteca resident of 5 years and previously of Livermore for over 30 years.
Denise Schermerhorn, 55, died on Sunday, February 21. Her Husband Wayne Schermerhorn, whom preceded her in death 19 years ago, came to help guide her to the light on Sunday, February 21, while surrounded by her family. Born in San Mateo, California and raised in Sunnyvale, California, she moved to the city of Ripon 9 years ago.
Cheryl "Sheri" Morrow, 42, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 26, 2010. She was born December 11, 1967 to Ron and Janet Morrow. In Heaven she'll join her brother, Ricky Morrow. A lifelong resident of Manteca, Sheri attended elementary and high school locally and worked for Goodwill as a sales clerk for several years.
Frank Espinola, Jr., 91, of Escalon passed away on Tuesday, February 23, in Modesto. He was born December 23, 1918 in Manteca to the late Frank and Maria Espinola. He was an agriculture professor at Modesto Junior College, specializing in poultry, retiring in 1976 after 16 years with MJC. During this time he was proud to have been named Mr. Good Egg by the poultry industry.
