Jeffrey Michael Van Slyke, 37, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 7. The son of Richard Van Slyke and Diana Franscella, he was born February 28, 1972 in Tracy, CA, and spent his childhood years in Escalon. Not long after graduating from Escalon High in 1990 he moved to Sacramento to further his education and attend Sac State, earning his bachelors' degree in the late 1990's. He then went to work for the Franchise Tax Board as an Administrator 1 Manager for over 10 years.

Rita Eva Esteves Baldwin lifelong resident of the Manteca/ Ripon area died after a lengthy illness at the age of 84. Born in Ripon to Manuel and Maria, Esteves attended schools in Ripon and worked in retail. Wanda Wert was born to parents Ethel and William in Waterville, Washington. Wanda has always been a strong and independent person. During her early years she rode a horse five miles every day to grammar school. She was the youngest of seven, and she was the only girl. As anyone with older brothers knows, she was tormented relentlessly, but all in good fun. A favorite story involves her being tied to a wagon wheel and rolled down a hill.
