"Coach" Marc D. Fulcher entered into rest January 19, 2010 in Manteca. He was born on April 12, 1949 in Oakland, CA. He joins his parents in heaven, E.A. Fulcher and Iva R.Tullis, as well as one brother, Edgar A. Fulcher Jr.
Peggy Victoria Manding, 88, of Manteca, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at her residence. She was born on May 30, 1921, in Monrovia, CA. Her faith in God was a very important part of her life and was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Peggy loved her family dearly and loved to cook and care for them. She enjoyed traveling, gambling, and gardening. She was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
Gertrude A. Robertson, 85, of Manteca, passed away Friday, January 15, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton. She was born on January 21, 1924 in Hebron, ND. She worked during World War II for the Federal Government in Baltimore, Maryland. She was transferred to the Sharpe Army Depot at the end of the war. In 1946 she met and married Kenneth N. Robertson and became the mother of three step-children.
Paulina Scarlet Antemate, 11, lost her 8-month battle to leukemia on January 19, 2010 at UC Davis in Sacramento, California. She was born on April 5, 1998 in Redwood City, California. She joins her grandmother and grandfather in heaven, Laura De La O and Eduardo Soto SR.
Linda Diane Taylor Paul, 60, passed away on January 7 at home with her family after fighting a two-year battle with melanoma cancer. Linda was a longtime resident of San Joaquin County. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all that were blessed to know her.
Leilani Sue Vaughn, 59, of Manteca passed away on January 2, 2010 in French Camp. Leilani was born on November 22, 1950 in Turlock, CA and was a resident of Manteca for 38 years. She was a member of the Manteca Quilters for many years, as well as a member of the Church of Christ.
Gladys Lenerville, 97, died peacefully in her home in Sedona, Arizona. She was a long time resident of Manteca until she moved to Sedona. Gladys is survived by her partner of 14 years, George Wysong and her daughter, Connie Lambkin, as well as five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Robert G. Hills, Sr. passed away Saturday, January 9, in Manteca at the age of 88 years. He was born July 20, 1921 to Randall and Jessie (Sovern) Hills in Burlington, Iowa. Robert was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 to 1946. He was a carpenter by trade, enjoying creating items for others that were for practical use. Robert was an honest hard working man who cared about his family and his country. In his later years he enjoyed touring the U.S. and playing cribbage with family and friends.
Arthur D. Costley, 77, entered into rest on January 8 in Manteca. He was born on February 12, 1932 in Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his sister Vera Varhola and his mother and father Elizabeth and Cleveland Costley. He was a resident of Manteca for over 14 years.
Kevin M. Fatzer, 55, entered into rest on January 7 in Modesto. He was born on June 30, 1954 in Stockton, California. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Fatzer. He was a resident of Modesto for 12 years.
Marion K. Swenson, 85, died on Saturday, December 5, at Manteca Care and Rehab. Marion was born in Albany, New York. She and her husband of 67 years [nicknamed Swanee] moved to Sherwood Park, Rensselaer County to raise their three children before becoming a nanny to many local families. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
