Howard E. Huntley, 98, of Lathrop, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2009. He was born July 20, 1911 in Oakdale; he was the second of five children of the late Lyman & Ila Huntley. He lived in San Francisco for 33 years and retired from the City in 1973, where he worked for 25 years as a truck driver. He loved living in the city but in 1975 his wife Nellie persuaded him to move to Lathrop, where his ancestors were early settlers. A year after moving, his beloved wife of 28 years passed away.
Aurelia (Peggy) Owen, a Ceres resident since 1988, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, after a brief illness. Her husband, Navy Master Chief George B. Owen Sr., preceded her in death in 1968.

She was born in Soquel, California to parents Elmer E. Gravelle and Ada Hackbarth. Dee was married to Paul A. Machado for 25 years. He passed away on June 29, 1972. She later married Fred H. McCoy who passed away on March 7, 2008.

Bertha Bronia Olbrycht, 92, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2009. Bertha was known for her kindness and commitment to creating a better life for others, especially children. She dearly loved all her children and grandchildren. Even in her eighties she would catch Amtrak and Dial A Ride to help them and be with them whenever needed. She was born in New York where she met her beloved husband Al and it was love at first sight.

Jack Alfred McAllister of Copperopolis, CA died suddenly at his home early on the morning of October 13, 2014, from complications relating to a recent illness. He was 79. Jack is survived by his three sons: Steven and Bill of Copperopolis and Jim in Seattle. He is also survived by a granddaughter Jayme who also lives in Seattle. His older brother Bob resides in Clearlake.

Eleanor Hall died peacefully on the morning of October 13, 2014. She was born August 30, 1923 in Everett, Massachusetts to Italian immigrants Agostino and Irene Scenna. Eleanor was the eighth of eleven children. As an infant, she survived a house fire that took the lives of five of her siblings. She married World War II veteran Paul Hall in 1945, and they later moved to northern California where they raised three children.
