Stena Van Andel, 99, of Ripon died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Bethany Home. She was born to Klaas and Gertie Vander Meer on April 23, 1910 in Vona, Colorado. In 1930 she went to work in Denver, Colorado as a nanny for two little girls. She moved to California in 1930 where she met Mike Van Andel and was married on April 5, 1936. They lived in the Ripon area and farmed two different ranches for many years. There they raised three children. In 1979 they moved to Modesto and later returned to Ripon in 1996.
George H. Clark, Jr. passed away Thursday, July 2, 2009 in Jackson, California, at the age of 79 years.
Helen Dismukes-Descovich-Granelli, 84, danced into Heaven Saturday, July 4, 2009. She was born Nov. 29, 1924 in Texas. Leaving on Earth her 4 boys Michael Descovich, Victor Descovich Jr., Kenneth Descovich and David Descovich and their wives and children. Helen has 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Helen's favortie day was to have all of the family and friends together with a buffett of food, fun and talk. Helen asked that no one be sad when she is finally in Heaven, but to celebrate that she is there and dance as she wants.

Sherman "Bud" Renfro, 80, passed away suddenly on July 5, 2009 with his family by his side. A resident of Manteca for nearly 47 years, he was born April 9, 1929 in Lincoln, Arkansas, to the late Homer & Beulah Renfro. He worked for Fiberboard Paper Co. in Stockton for over 35 years before retiring in 1989.
Stanley Joseph Terry, 87, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2009. He was born April 25, 1922 in Sunnyvale, CA, to the late Stanley F. & Rose Terry. He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Alice Marie Terry of Manteca; three children: Stanley A. Terry of Manteca, Stephen P. Terry of Clearlake, Kathlyn A Lafferty of Fremont; six grandchildren, Layne Lee & husband Timothy, Joseph Phillips, Stanley R. Terry & wife Elizabeth, David Terry, Lynette Terry, and Jeffrey Terry; and sister Mary Del Bono of San Carlos, CA. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren.
Tevanie Deanne Lantz, 35, born April 23, 1974 died Thursday, July 2, 2009, joining her Papa Charlie Maehl and aunt Kim and aunt Karen in heaven. Tevanie is also a cherished family member to 15 cousins and 5 aunts and uncles and many other extended family members.

Doug Haro was born in Stockton, California on August 22, 1948 to Fred and Marilyn Haro. In 1964 Doug met the love of his life, Maxine Severin at Calvary Baptist Church in Stockton, California. They were married May 11, 1967. Doug enlisted in the Army in 1967 and did a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969 in the First Air Cavalry. Doug and Maxine then raised two children, Wendi and Brannon Haro. On the morning of February 28th our sweet angel Jenny Castillo was called home to our Lord in heaven. Jenny was born on June 19, 1929 to Axel and Eva Lind in French Camp, CA. She joins her parents in heaven as well as her husband Bill Castillo, her precious daughter Constance Stavros and son in law Frank Mozzetti in heaven.

Sam Scott Battista of Turlock, CA worked as a butcher at Turlock Supermarket, a mechanic at Olson's Tractor Repair, a driver for Airgas, a housepainter with his father, brother, and nephew, and was a Master Craftsman. He was as proud of his work restoring downtown Turlock as he was building wheelchair ramps for his loved ones. He was truly a Sam-Of-All-Trades.

Thomas is survived by his wife Margaret Ann, daughter Tommiette Rey, and son Ronald (Linda Sue) Rey. He was blessed with two grandchildren, Juraidi Rey, and Zachary Rey, as well as a great grandson Tyler Thomas Rey, step-granddaughter Jessica Miller, and step-great grandson, Jakob Miller.

Roger Falge passed away after a brief time in Hospice care while visiting his children in Washington State. He was born in New York City and lived in Manteca for the past 20 years. Roger practiced as a Marriage and Family Counselor locally for most of those years. He was deeply committed to helping his many clients. He was also devoted to his religion and was a parishioner at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
