He was a U.S. Army Air Corps/ Air Force veteran. He was a retired aircraft mechanic and machinist. Charles enjoyed golf, poker and volunteering at the Manteca Senior Center.

James Leslie Benedict passed away December 11, 2013 at the age of 61, due to complications from a stroke. He was born to Ivan and Donna Benedict, April 27, 1952 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised in San Mateo, CA and graduated from Hillsdale High School. He lived at Camilla Gardens in Manteca for nearly 20 years. Jim was a talented photographer who loved animals. He also greatly enjoyed working with his hands and building models.
