Joan Mistlin, 92, of Ripon, CA passed away peacefully on May 31, 2014, in the loving care of Bethany Home, surrounded by most of her family. She was born on December 13, 1921 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Wilma and Herbert Hildebrandt. She grew up in Normal, Illinois. During the war she worked on the Manhattan Project and then joined the U.S. Marines, serving as an aviation mechanic from 1943 to 1945.

Margaret "Toddy" Smith, age 80, entered into rest on May 29, 2014, in Manteca. She was born on July 6, 1933, in Cascade, Iowa to the late Henry and Margaret Menster. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Fisher, two brothers and two sisters.
Richard Joseph Rose, 59, of Manteca passed away Thursday, May 22, at his residence in Manteca with his loving family at his side.

Maxine Ilene Nielsen, 88, entered into rest on May 7, 2014, in French Camp, Ca. She was born on Aug. 3, 1925, to Alonzo and Elizabeth Waggener in Counsel Bluff, Iowa. In heaven she joins her parents, her husband, Ira Wallace Nielsen, many siblings and her adored granddaughter Natallia Layla Nielsen.
Emily Santos passed away peacefully on May 6, 2014, in Brentwood, California, at the age of 87. Emily was born on November 3, 1926, at her home in Roberts Island, Stockton, California, to Antonio and Mariana Ferreira. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Nelson Santos.
George was born in Chicago on June 11, 1924 and passed away in Sacramento, on April 20, 2014. His family moved to California in 1939 and he went to Manteca High School. He was a talented musician. He found his passion for music as a teenager playing clarinet and saxophone.

Roland is also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Beth Morrison. He was a resident of Manteca for 20 years and previous to that a resident of North Dakota.

Victoria Lee Smith (Miss Vickie) 62 of Modesto, CA, was taken by the Lord on April 19, 2014, at Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family. She was born in Tracy CA, July 21, 1951. She was a hairstylist for 40 years. She was an active member of Big Valley Grace church in Modesto. Vickie lived life to its fullest, she loved family get togethers, bowling, rafting, karaoke, and making people laugh. Vickie is survived by her son Greg O'Valle of Tracy, CA. and her sister Darlene Horner of Santa Cruz, CA.
After a full life at age 100 years, 4 months and 11 days, Lottie closed her eyes after saying, "Thank you Lord" and was gone to Heaven. When she could no longer live alone, she came to her daughter Wilma's home, with help of Hospice, when discharged from hospital on October 20. Lottie had been longing for Heaven since the loss of her only son, Bob Zumwalt in 2013 at age of 70 years. She was widowed in 2004 when her husband of 67 years died.
On September 30, 2014, God called His precious one home. Roger leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Joyce. He leaves his three daughters, Toni Jo Payne (Ed), Barbara Jean Bell (Frank), Patricia Ann Patterson (Greg), his stepson, Mark William Oncay (Lisa), and his sister Virginia Manly. He leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and stepdaughter, Cheryl. Roger proudly served his country as a Marine.

Judith Lynn Kuhn (Judy), age 65, of Manteca, Ca., passed away in her home Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014. Judy was born in Oakland, Ca., on March 25, 1949. She was the daughter to the late Leola Daisy Kuhn and Henry Kuhn. Survivors in addition to her devoted husband, George Medeiros Jr., include her beloved children: George Medeiros III, Sheri Medeiros, and Joey Medeiros. She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and five great grandchildren and is also survived by her sister, Sandy Machesky, many nieces, nephews, and countless friends, including her best friend and beloved dog, Bugsy.

Raymond Strickland passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2014, at the age of 85, in Manteca, California. Ray was born on December 17, 1928, to Curtis and Ethel Strickland, in Walker Chapel, Alabama. He has resided in California for 49 years. He served 4 years in the Army and was a radio operator on the front lines of the Korean War. He held his service to our country in highest regard and treasured the American flag he kept posted on his property.

Jack Alfred McAllister of Copperopolis, CA died suddenly at his home early on the morning of October 13, 2014, from complications relating to a recent illness. He was 79. Jack is survived by his three sons: Steven and Bill of Copperopolis and Jim in Seattle. He is also survived by a granddaughter Jayme who also lives in Seattle. His older brother Bob resides in Clearlake.
