Martin "Marty" Hill, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 with his family by his side. He was born July 13, 1933 in Fruitland, ID, to Levi and Eva Hill. He worked many years as a sawyer in the saw mills in Idaho. Once moving back to the Valley in the late 1980s he settled in Manteca and owned and operated his own Shell Station.

Efren P. Juarez, 90, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 2, 2009. He was born June 10, 1918 in Santa Fe. Mich., Mexico. He was a resident of Manteca for over 60 years. He leaves behind his adoring wife of nearly 65 years, Maria R. Juarez of Manteca; and six children; Roy Juarez and wife Rachel, DeeDee Limas and husband Danny, Salvador Juarez and wife Judy, Mary Denuit, Lucille Juarez Del Toro and husband Raul, Lupe Archibeque and husband Danny, all of Manteca. He was also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Patrick W. Simmons, 54, a resident of Wilsall, Montana for the past three years and a former longtime Tracy resident, died Sunday afternoon, April 26, 2009, as the result of injuries he sustained in a single vehicle automobile accident just south of Wilsall. He left this world too suddenly for those who loved him. Cremation has taken place at Franzen-Davis Crematory in Livingston. Family services will be held at a later date.
Leith Henry Todd, 89, was a resident of Manteca for over 30 years. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born Sept. 2, 1919 in Big Heart, Oklahoma. He was raised in Modesto and lived most of his life in the valley until moving to Arizona in 2005.

James Leslie Benedict passed away December 11, 2013 at the age of 61, due to complications from a stroke. He was born to Ivan and Donna Benedict, April 27, 1952 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised in San Mateo, CA and graduated from Hillsdale High School. He lived at Camilla Gardens in Manteca for nearly 20 years. Jim was a talented photographer who loved animals. He also greatly enjoyed working with his hands and building models.
Bonnie Daniel, age 88, was born and raised in south eastern Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Lee Vinson and Ruthie Bass Vinson.
Born in Racine, WI to the Rev. Edward Andersen and Marie Frey Andersen, Maynard was the youngest of seven boys, all now deceased. He is survived by his wife Luella (Drummond) Andersen, married 65 years, his sons; Douglas (Linda) Andersen, Peter (Angie) Andersen, grandsons Tyler and Travis, great-granddaughter Gianna and great-grandson Athen, and Linda's son, Sean McComb. Maynard and Luella's third son, Joel, died at age nine of leukemia.

Donald Rudolph, of Ripon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was 85. He was born August 24, 1928 to Kenneth and Flora Rudolph, of Leesburg, PA. Donald has two brothers, Dale of Ironton, Ohio and Larry of Mentor, Ohio. He married Esther Winklevoss in May of 1947. They had three children, the late Ron of Las Vegas, NV, Debbie of Manteca, CA, and Ken of Ripon, CA.
