In addition to her parents she also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur P. Smith Sr., of 47 years; a son, Gerald Medlock, a daughter, Shirley Hicks; her brother, John F. Banks, and two sisters, Lucille Medlock and Hazel Shirley. Bernice was a resident of Manteca for 60 years.

She moved to San Leandro in 1961 and lived there with her family until they moved to Manteca, where she has resided the past 11 years. Bonnie is preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Del Cima and Shirley Oswell.
Jerry De Boer, a lifetime resident of Ripon, CA passed away suddenly on December 6, 2013. He was 68 years old. Jerry was born March 20, 1945 in French Camp, CA. A 40-year resident of Manteca, she was born in her home on Dec. 17, 1940 in San Juan Bautista, California. She graduated with highest honors from San Benito High School and attended San Joaquin Delta College. Married for over 57 years to her husband, Claude, with whom she had five children, she was both homemaker and manager of her husband's optometry practice. She was a founding member of Manteca Quilters.

James Leslie Benedict passed away December 11, 2013 at the age of 61, due to complications from a stroke. He was born to Ivan and Donna Benedict, April 27, 1952 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was raised in San Mateo, CA and graduated from Hillsdale High School. He lived at Camilla Gardens in Manteca for nearly 20 years. Jim was a talented photographer who loved animals. He also greatly enjoyed working with his hands and building models.

Donald Rudolph, of Ripon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was 85. He was born August 24, 1928 to Kenneth and Flora Rudolph, of Leesburg, PA. Donald has two brothers, Dale of Ironton, Ohio and Larry of Mentor, Ohio. He married Esther Winklevoss in May of 1947.
