He served for 3 years in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII; his duty took him to Japan in the Military Police. Don Curson, a resident of Manteca for 57 years, died peacefully Friday, March 26, at the age of 87, in a nursing facility in Woodburn Oregon. He is survived by his wife Edith Curson and daughter Janice Settlemoir. He is preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Kenneth Curson.
Patrick Lee Cassidy of Manteca passed away at age 52 on Wednesday, March 24. He is survived by his mother, Anita Cassidy, brother Michael Cassidy and nephew Matthew Oliver of Manteca; brother Ron Cassidy, sister-in-law Carrie and nieces Jennifer and Alexandria Cassidy of Valley Springs. Lorean Anna Doss, 93, Manteca resident for over 21 years, entered into rest at her home on Saturday, March 20. She was born June 12, 1916 in Delta, Colorado, the 4th child born to the late Marion and Cora Wooley. Lorean moved to Fullerton, California, at the age of 2. While living there, she met the love of her life, Odus Doss, while attending church and they married and remained married for 60 years until he passed away in October 2000. Mae Greeley of Manteca, passed away at the age of 93, Saturday, March 27. Mae has been in Palm Haven since 2004. Mae was born on a race horse/cattle ranch just 8 miles out of Blackwell, Oklahoma, on May 29, 1916. Her parents were Harry Cleveland Stroup and Nina Lillian Stauffer. She was preceded in death by her sister, two brothers, her husband, and son Norman Greeley.
Alta Nadine Fisher, 94, passed away at her home in Escalon early Thursday morning April 1. She was born on July 19, 1915 in Ripon. She was very artistic and creative and enjoyed keeping busy doing arts & crafts, making porcelain dolls and gallery glass and sewing; even making clothing and prom dresses for her children and formal dresses for Eastern Star. Alta was a member of Big Valley Grace Church, Eastern Star, and the Atlanta Women's Club.
