Nancy L. (Oppenheimer) Stern, age 81, entered into rest on February 4, 2013 in Stockton, CA. She was born on November 30, 1931 in Erie, Pennsylvania and later lived in Youngstown, Ohio. Her family moved to Los Angeles, when she was young. It was in the Los Angeles area where she met her husband, Leon Stern, raised a family, owned a business and lived for more than 60 years. Nancy and Lee moved to Manteca to be closer to their children in 2011.

Wayne Arthur Johnson, 90, passed away peacefully on April 26 in Manteca, California. Wayne was born on March 3, 1923 in Stockton, CA. Wayne was a World War II veteran, serving his time in the Pacific Theatre and taking part in the Battle of Palou and the Occupation of Japan. He settled in Manteca after the war and remained there for the remainder of his life, working as a farmer, for Best Fertilizer and Spreckle's Sugar.
