Monta Vista tops Weston Ranch in championship round

Throughout the West Coast Jamboree the Weston Ranch girls basketball team was able to put up quality showings against each tournament opponent, but that was not the case in the Cougars' 61-39 loss to Monte Vista in the championship round of the Tanzanite Division.

Weston Ranch's boys basketball team finished with a more-than-respectable third-place effort in the Modesto Christian Holiday Classic Friday, defeating the tournament host in overtime, 79-77. It was the second time in as many years that the Cougars defeated Modesto Christian in overtime.
