2010 MANTECA BULLETIN ALL-AREA BOYS TRACK AND FIELD TEAM

  • John Bowers, Sierra senior: The Bulletin's All-Area Cross Country Runner of the Year in the fall qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Meet in both distance events. After winning the Valley Oak League's 3,200-meter race, he placed third in the same event as well as the 1,600 in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III meet.
  • Kolton Cody, Sierra junior: Area's top sprinter was instrumental in the Timberwolves' run to the SJS Division-III title. Won the 100-meter dash and took second in the 200 in league and was a part of the winning 4x100 relay team in ...

Lancers clamp down on Ripon Christian

RIPON - The East Union defense was suffocating Monday night, forcing host Ripon Christian to turn the ball over 31 times in a 53-25 Lancers win in a Sac-Joaquin Section Foundation basketball game. This is the 13th year for the Foundation games which provide funding for the Section's A. Dale Lacky Scholarship program. This year, 152 games were played at 81 different sites in the section with the results not counting in the teams' records. Lathrop visited Golden Valley, while Weston Ranch took on Lincoln in doubleheaders. The Sierra girls hosted Sonora.
