Sierra stumbles in Sonora

The Sierra High soccer program stepped into the driver's seat for the Valley Oak League championship with last week's win over Manteca, but the road got a little bumpy Wednesday as the Timberwolves were stopped in Sonora 1-0 by the Wildcats in league action.

Throughout the entire season, the East Union Lancers have turned to one another to find its motivation to continue along an unchallenging 2010 Valley Oak League season. The Valley Foothill League's end of season golf tournament was the final opportunity for players to try to extend their seasons, and Ripon Christian's Jennie Wickham as well as the Ripon High team did just that, earning a spot in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V tournament with a strong showing Monday.
