The Buffaloes got off to a great start Tuesday at home against Enochs, but a few uncharacteristic mistakes spelled doom in a 25-16, 22-25, 25-23, 20-25, 7-15 loss.

Numbers aren't supposed to lie, but in this case they do. Comcast to televise Manteca-Oakdale game
The Comcast Hometown Network will televise 13 Northern California high school football games this fall, and among them will be the Oct. 30 matchup between Manteca and Oakdale at The Corral.
Changes made to Section playoffs
The anticipated realignment of Sac-Joaquin Section conferences won't come to pass until the 2010-11 school year, but changes to the football playoff format has been approved to begin this fall.
ARE YOU READY?
The pads were popping at Ripon Christian Friday afternoon as the Ripon Knights practiced full-contact tackling drills. Head coach Todd Keast and the Knights kick off the 2009 season Aug. 22 at Gustine High, where the Redskins will be waiting. Ripon will face another road test in the Delhi Raiders Aug. 29 before returning to RC for the first contest in front of the home faithful.
