ROCKLIN – It took more than 30 matches, but the Sierra High No. 1 doubles team finally met defeat during the quarterfinals of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II Girls Individual Tennis Tournament Thursday in Rocklin.
MODESTO – In what seemed like record time, the Ripon Christian volleyball team showed up to Big Valley Christians gym and ruined what was a terrific season when the Knights pulled off a second-round 3-0 upset of the hosts Lions.

The effects of an emotionally-draining loss to Oakdale week ago plagued Manteca High over the first two quarters of play, but the second half was all Buffaloes in a 37-7 Valley Oak League win over the visiting Central Valley Hawks Friday.
RIPON – Every team strives to get all three of its major components firing on the same page: offense, defense and special teams.
CERES - East Union completed a sweep of Ceres Unified schools with a 29-15 victory over Ceres High Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.
LATHROP – The young Spartans were once again left with the promise of better days ahead.

STOCKTON - Despite trailing in the third quarter and a 27-point effort from the Weston Ranch's Jaelen Ragsdale, visiting Sonora scored 30 points in the fourth to come back and win the Valley Oak League opener 68-62 on Tuesday night.
