After hauling in at least a portion of the 2011 Valley Oak League championship with a 5-0 win over the Lathrop Spartans Tuesday, the East Union tennis players simply stuck around for some extra work. The Lancers will have to stop the Sierra Timberwolves Thursday for the outright crown, and that will be the only thing to get the group a taste of satisfaction.

Every piece of Brian Goulart's puzzle fit perfectly in place, and junior Kelsey Emerson left little doubt as to who was his most important piece. Only Gonzales was not done, trickling a header in off a direct kick and allowing Escalon to sneak out with the 1-1 tie.

Before the Sierra Timberwolves came to the plate in the frist inning they were looking up at the Oakdale Mustangs 2-0. Sierra answered with a Dylan DeBrouwer run in their at bat, but the Timberwolves would get no closer in Oakdale's 12-1 Valley Oak League thumping of Sierra Thursday.
