COSUMNES OAKS - The Weston Ranch High sophomore boys basketball team claimed third place Saturday at the Cosumnes Oaks Tournament with a 62-55 win over Laguna.

Manteca freshman girls basketball coach Kym Gause had the unique opportunity to coach a pair of games Thursday night as Mary Ann Tolbert was unable to make it to the sophomore contest, and Gause filled in well, leading the sophomore Buffs to a 55-30 win over Lathrop.
TRACY - It was a game that Manteca led nearly from wire to wire, but in the end a few crucial categories spelled doom for the Buffaloes Thursday night at West High in a 67-62 loss to Golden Valley.

TRACY - Chavez High guard Deone Jackson gave the Titans their first lead on a fastbreak layup 58 seconds into game, and it was Jackson who arched in a clutch 3-pointer and two free throws late in the fourth quarter for their second and third leads.
