20 years ago: March 23, 1991 - Manteca High junior left-hander Paul Gutierrez held East Union High to one hit and earned a 3-1 win in the first baseball meeting between EU and MHS and the VOL opener for both teams yesterday. Rod McCleary got the lone Lancer hit, while Eric Simoni scored the only EU run.
