STIOCKTON – The objective was simple. Make it to Bakersfield. Only two area wrestlers were able to earn that right as Sierra High's Alez Nuanez and Ripon High's Travis Smith advanced with sixth place finishes Saturday during the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters at the Stockton Arena.

Ripon’s Triplett earns first-ever girls state title

Things looked quite bleak for the Golden West 49ers girls basketball team as they went into halftime trailing August Knodt by double digits. But Brijanee Moore took the matters into her own hands, exploding for 25 second half points and lifting the 49ers to the Manteca Unified Student Trust Title Thursday in 32-27 win at East Union High.
