Manteca falls to Downey in Modesto City Classic

MODESTO - Manteca was outrebounded 29-18, coughed up 32 turnovers and still had a chance to beat Modesto City Classic co-host Downey in a first-round contest Wednesday.

Gesler inks athletic scholarship with NDNU

After suffering through an injury that would seemingly have pushed an athlete out of the collegiate ranks, East Union senior Gianna Gesler used a strong sophomore campaign coupled with a dedicated grind on the summer travel ball circuit to earn an athletic scholarship to Notre Dame de Namur University in the Bay Area.

Ripon wards off Tracy in first game

After putting together a perfect 14-0 league season and falling one win short of a Sac-Joaquin Section title, the Sierra Timberwolves would seem like a logical choice for the Valley Oak League's team to beat. But an experienced Weston Ranch club, led by senior stud Dylan Alexander, is sure to lobby for some of the league's attention.
