MORGAN HILL - Manteca Area Soccer League's under-14 boys Sporting went 2-1 during the California Youth Soccer Association Founders' Cup this past weekend.
On December 7, 1929, at Elk Grove High School, Manteca High downed the Elk Grove football team in a crushing defeat of 33-0. This gives the Buffaloes first place in class "B" football in Central California. The Elk Grove boys were a fast and tricky team but they could not stand up to the heavy pounding of the Buffalo line. This is the first time in the history of Manteca Union High School that the Buffaloes have won the championship of Central California.
