20 years ago: May 9, 1990 - Befitting a team that plowed through the opposition with a perfect record, Manteca High dominated the list of all-VOL tennis honorees announced Monday night by the league's coaches. The Buffaloes swept the big three awards, Sharyl Burgeson being named Coach of the Year, while Paul Banks was tabbed the Most Valuable Singles Player and the duo of John Blankenship and Julius Kamarga was selected as the Most Valuable Doubles Team. Banks got the nod on the basis of his 25-2 record.
