MODESTO – The Modesto Junior College Nursing Alumni Association is holding a Celebrating Nursing Dinner and Auction on Friday, March 12, 6 to 8 p.m. in the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center on West Campus, located at 2201 Blue Gum Avenue. The proceeds will be used for scholarships and emergency loans to assist the increasing number of MJC nursing students in financial crisis.

A salary raise for Manteca Unified teachers is long overdue, said Ken Johnson, the president of the Manteca Educators Association which is in the midst of continuing salary negotiations with the school district.
During continuing teachers' salary negotiations, the specifics of behind-doors talks with representatives of the Manteca Educators Association are strictly confidential, Manteca Unified Deputy Superintendent Clark Burke said, explaining why he could not answer questions about statements made by the union members.
