1980: Babe Ruth 13’s open tourney with win

Ninety years ago, on June 21, 1920, heavy hitting by Patterson and numerous errors by Manteca lost the game for the locals. The score was 12-6 in favor of the Panthers. Manteca lost the game in the second inning when the Panthers put six runs across the plate. Three glaring errors in this frame helped the Patterson runners along. "Red" Gutterson of the Sperry Flours, who filled in at short for Manteca, made three errors and helped toss the game away.

10 years ago: June 14, 2000 - The Sierra Babe Ruth 16-18 Baseball team continued its early-season tear through the league with a pair of resounding victories in Tracy on Sunday to improve to 4-0.
