The Weston Ranch Falcons of the Mountain Valley Youth Football League will be hosting a canned food drive at Saturday’s homecoming game against Novato Bengals.Five games will be played that day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Weston Ranch High stadium.Canned goods collected will go to San Joaquin Harvest Food Bank. Those involved in the league catering to youngster age 4 through 14 will also being wearing pink that day on behalf of breast cancer awareness for the month of October.
Included will be players, cheerleaders, coaches, team moms, and fans.

RIPON: Ripon High’s athletic department is hosting its annual fall golf tournament fund-raiser at Jack Tone Golf Course Oct. 24.
The 18-hole, four-man scramble begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Teams must check in between 7:30-8:30, and breakfast will be served until 8:45. There will also be a pre-tournament putting contest during that time.
The cost is $75 per player, which includes green and cart fees, a tee prize at check-in, breakfast, range balls and lunch.
A 50-50 drawing will be held after the tournament along with raffle drawings for various prizes. There will also be silent and live auctions for special items.

SIERRA: Sierra High’s athletic boosters will hold its annual tri-tip dinner dance Saturday, Oct. 24 at the MRPS Hall. Cocktails will be served from 6-7 p.m., the dinner will begin at 7, raffles from 8-9 and dancing will cap off the evening until midnight.
Tickets are $30 per person.

Players ages 5-14 are invited to play, with divisions available at the T-Ball (5-6), Farm (7-8), Minor (9-10), Major (11-12) and Junior (13-14) levels. The season starts with practices in February, and Opening Day is March 13.
Manteca Little League is open to players in Manteca who live east of Main Street. Players from Ripon and Escalon are also welcome.

BOMBERS: The Bay Valley Bomber 9-and-under team is looking to recruit players to complete it’s roster. The team is a competitive year-round travel-ball team out of Tracy.
