‘Total Comedy Live’ production opens Thursday at Ripon High

RIPON - A spirited performance of “Total Comedy Live!” is set to open Thursday, Oct. 29, on the Ripon High School stage.

A presentation of the Ripon High performing Arts it is a collection of comedy sketches about teen life including “Psychic Pet Hotline,” and “Mall Zombies,” along with “Dysfunctional Family Feud,” and “The Sibling Superstore.”

This week’s presentation will be on Thursday and Friday nights at 7 with the following week curtains on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

Tickets will only be available at the door.  Adults $7 with students and seniors $5.  Proceeds will go to the Ripon High Performing Arts Club.

Students involved in the production are Jamie Curtis, Deisy Villegas, Sarah and Dominique Choppard, Vanessa Camacho, Dawn Tornell, Tiffani Zapeda, Joaquin  Lewis, Carina Ibarra, India Chakraverty, Savanah Plasch, Sal Bailon, Cassie Curatolo, Francesca Peoschl, Veronica Ochoa, Brian Newburg, Jesse Lozano, Kamron Andaya, Nicole Perez and Austin Pillon.

Since there is no drama class offered at the school, students are learning what they can through the extracurricular productions offered by Terri Messick.  The majority of the cast members are new to the stage this year.  

Veterans from the spring production “Disney Spectacular Revue” are seniors Sal Bailon, Joaquin Lewis, Austin PillonBrian Newburg and Carina Carp Ibara.

Last year the Ripon High Music Ensemble performed at the California Adventure and the band and ensemble classes both participated in the backstage workshop in the Disney recording studios.
