Thieves raided the Manteca Towing storage yard in the 3700 block of West Yosemite Avenue sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning creating some $10,000 in losses.

Jeffrey Maurer, who teaches psychology, economics and government at Sierra High School, turned himself in to Manteca Police Tuesday night at 6:30 for alleged inappropriate sexual behavior with a student.

A well-dressed motorist was stopped and arrested by police in the parking lot of a North Main Street drug store Wednesday morning after they learned he was in town. They searched him out on charges that included altering his pay checks from a Manteca business last October and a no bail warrant for a vandalism conviction.
