Edna Petersen
Edna Petersen, 85, entered into rest on Sunday, March 14, in Manteca surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 23, 1924 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Edna joins her former husband and friend Fritz Petersen in heaven along with her son Joseph George Petersen and two siblings James Holmes and Alice Matthew.




Patricia A. DuBois-Rocha
Patricia A. DuBois-Rocha, who just turned 64,  passed away at Kaiser Hospital Modesto on Monday, March 8, from a long  pulmonary disease, with her family by her side. She was born in Bunch, Oklahoma, to the late Lee Maloy and Pauline Shuffield coming to California at the age of six. 




Julio Lara
Julio Lara was born in Honalulu, Hawaii, on April 30,1927 and passed away at the age of 82 on Tuesday, March 9. He was a resident of Manteca for 23 years. Jodie Mulbacher McGovern, 94, was born September 3, 1915 in Newark, New Jersey, to Joseph Mulbacher and Mildred Calik. She was born into eternal life Friday, March 12, in Stockton. She grew up in the Newark area, attended public schools and went to work as a comptometer operator for Western Electric, the manufacturing and distribution arm of AT&T. Gary Lee Van Atta, 63, entered into rest on Saturday, March 6.  He was born on August 9, 1946 in Nampa, Idaho. He was a resident of Lathrop for the past 16 years. He joins his father in heaven, Clyde Van Atta.

Julie Lyn Edwards of Lake County died on March 1, 2010 at the age of 46 years. She was born on July 6, 1963 in Oakland, CA.




Cena “Jo” Thiel
On Thursday, March 11, 2010 in Manteca, Ca, Cena “Jo” Thiel, 83, was called to her heavenly home while surrounded by her beloved family. Waiting to meet “Jo” in heaven were her husband and partner of 54 years John Thiel, daughter Cynthia, parents, William and Minnie Critchfield and 4 siblings: Howard, Walt and James Critchfield and a sister Irene Tyler.

Mike Montoya Elias, 88, entered into rest on March 9, in Stockton. He was born on Christmas in 1921 in Rockford, Colorado to the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Helen Elias. Mike joins his parents in heaven as well as his wife Nora Elias and brothers Manuel and Angel Elias.

Glenn Dee Smith, 68, passed away in Stockton, on March 3. He was born September 18, 1941 in Lexington, OK to the late James & Rena Smith. In Heaven he joins his parents and two brothers Viencel J. Smith and James R. Smith.

Thomas C. Correa
Thomas C. Correa of Moreno Valley, California passed away unexpectedly on February 13, at the age of 60. Born on March 3, 1949 in Stockton, the son of James and Lorene (Souza) Correa, he was raised in Manteca and eventually resided in various cities throughout California in addition to five years spent in Wurzburg, Germany.




Rose K. Dalke
Rose K. Dalke, passed away on Monday, March 8 on her 90th birthday. She was born in 1920 to German immigrants who lived on a small farm in Marsh, Montana. She was the youngest girl of a large family that included four sisters and six brothers. Rose was married for 66 years to Herbert Dalke who passed away in August of 2007. She lived in Manteca for the past 12 years.




Michael Benedict Miller
Michael Benedict Miller, born June 5, 1970, in Redwood City, passed away after a year-long battle with melanoma March 1, 2010, in Manteca.  




Todd Brian Petray
Todd Brian Petray, 42, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at home after a long and brave battle with cancer. He was born in Richmond, a resident of Manteca and former resident of Concord. Todd’s career was spent as a butcher where he worked for Safeway Stores. Prior to that, he worked at Lucky Stores and in the moving industry. He had a very special gift with children and animals, always surrounded by them, playing with and caring for them.
