The City of Ripon’s water conservation took another dip.
Director of Public Works Ted Johnston reported at the last Ripon City Council meeting that the water reduction totals for last month was at 11.74 percent reduction, using the January 2013 as the base line comparison.
The yearly goal as established by elected leaders is 30 percent reduction.
Ripon’s water conservation effort for December was 13 percent.
The City currently has a one-day a week watering schedule for the winter months — those living at places ending with odd numbered addresses can irrigate their landscape on Sundays while folks with even numbered homes can water their lawn and outdoor plants on Saturdays.
Watering is prohibited on Monday.
In March, the watering schedule will jump to a three-day schedule.
Those living with odd numbered addresses are permitted to water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Residents with even addresses can did likewise on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
