One of the most performed shows in America is coming to Cornerstone Community Church.

“Seussical the Musical Jr.” under the direction of Michealle Hoag will feature 55 youngsters in the community, ranging in age from 8 to 18.

The production of the Cornerstone Community Theater has been described as a musical extravaganza with a story line centered on Horton the Elephant as played by Kodi Mattox.

He’s joined by his tiny friend Jo Jo (Elijah Braley) and all of the invisible Whos while guarding an abandon egg left in his care by Mayzie La Bird (Atlantah Hoag).

Horton also faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial.

Bailey Dokoozlian plays Gertrude McFuzz, who never loses faith in Horton.

“Seussical the Musical Jr.” is the latest production of Cornerstone, which performed Disney’s Cinderella along with Disney’s The Jungle Book and Willy Wonka in previous years.

Opening night is Friday at 7 o’clock at the church located at 17900 Comconex Rd. Manteca.

A pair of performance is planned for Saturday, including a 2 p.m. matinee and 7 o’clock showing.

The encore takes place on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Tickets are now on sale.

Cost is $5 general admission and $10 preferred seating.
