Who says dining alfresco has to be pricey?

In Stockton there are several that come to mind where the outdoor ambience can be enjoyed in your utmost casual wear.

At Chitiva’s Salsa and Sports Bar located at Waterfront Warehouse, 445 W. Weber Ave. No. 122, you can enjoy chips and salsa – OK you can even dance Salsa, Cumbia, Merengue, Bachata or Cha Cha – with a nip of the cool Delta breeze, waiting on that fajita or enchilada dinner while sipping on a mojito.

The Deep Water Channel can provide a nice sunset even with the Interstate 5 span to the west standing in the way of your view.

Time it just right and you can enjoy live music to bump up the evening.

Carlos and Elizabeth Chitiva are the owners of this downtown waterfront establishment.

Other outdoor dining spots in the area include:

• Bob’s at the Marina – This place was voted as the No. 1 Burger, Breakfast and Place to Eat on the Delta in a recent poll. How about a giant breakfast burrito ($7.25) to kick off your morning or chicken fried steak and eggs for the same price? Bob’s Giant Hamburger ($5.99) or Bob’s Giant Cheeseburger ($7.99) feature a one-third pound beef patty on a giant bun and all the fixings. For more information and directions, log on to www.bobsatthemarina.com.

• Garlic Brothers Restaurant and Bar – An outdoor patio and scenery that’s second to none. Garlic Brothers is located next door to Bob’s on the Marina but with a better view – the confluence of the Deep Water Channel and Fourteen Mile Slough. Located at 6629 Embarcadero Dr., Garlic Brothers and its outdoor setting makes for an ideal place to sit and relax while enjoying the last few weeks of summer. For more information and direction, call 209.474.6585 or log on to www.garlicbrotheronline.com.

• Valley Brewing Company – So it doesn’t have the spectacular views of the waterways but this popular dining spot just off the Miracle Mile occasionally offers up the Delta breeze.  There’s plenty of space to relax and enjoy a nice cold microbrew along with appetizers and comfort food from the menu. Valley Brew is located at 157 W. Adams St. For more information, call 209.464.2739 or log on to www.valleybrew.com.
