Ripon Unified just added 12 new hires for this school year.

Of that, six were announced as replacements at the last school board meeting.

Trustees voted 4-0 on the new hires and also accepted five resignations.

Linda Cochran, who was the Colony Oak Elementary School Learning Center instructor, was offered another teaching job closer to her home. She’s agreed to stay with the district through Aug. 29.

“I will dearly miss the Learning Center students, staff and Colony Oak’s incredible Parent Faculty Club,” she said in her letter of resignation.

The district will bid adieu to Weston Elementary School Learning Center aid Amie Walker, Ripona Elementary School teacher Jessica Chumney, Park View Elementary School food service employee Natalie Haff, and Ripon High custodian Matt Ott.

Among the new hires are teachers Yi Zhu and Daniel Lehr at Ripon Elementary, teacher Brett Grenz at Ripona, teachers Tammy Townsend and Sandra Porter at Park View, and teachers Miguel Vigil and Adrienne Beltrami at Ripon High.

The district office welcomed psychologist Jessica Weber, AP technician Kris Block, and receptionist Raquel Babauta.

In addition, Janeen Eisenhauer and Leah Calvo joined RUSD Nutrition Services.
